The country’s largest marine protected area covers 57,176 square miles (148,087 square kilometres) and safeguards from fishing and other extractive activities.

Five cabins on the Quino El Guardian cater to up to 16 divers. Four cabins have two upper and two lower bunks, while one has an upper and lower bunk, generally reserved for couples. Rooms are commonly assigned by gender, and each bunk has a curtain for privacy.
The bathrooms are on the dive deck, one for each cabin. Each room is air-conditioned and has plenty of storage for each guest. Cabins on Quino El Guardian are somewhat more straightforward than some other vessels heading to the Socorro Islands, but they are a lot of fun!
The cuisine onboard the Quino El Guardian is inclusive and plentiful, catering to vegan, plant-based, and a range of other diets. With a small breakfast before dive number one and a large one after. Lunch is served after the second dive, and snacks arrive after dive three. You will be treated to a three-course dinner in the evening or after the fourth dive. There is also complimentary beer and wine after the last dive of the day.

OK, yes, I know that this is an above-water image, but aren’t they stunning? The friendly local Dolphin population are just some of the incredible creatures you will meet on a Socorro scuba diving adventure. Alongside a vast array of shark species, including tiger sharks, you will encounter schooling pelagics and giant Pacific manta.
Socorro diving is most well known for the inquisitive mantas that often come to play in scuba divers’ bubbles, but there is also the chance to spot Humpback whales and whale sharks!
Dives will be done from one of the two dive tenders or ‘pangas’ that provide you a safe entrance and exit to this incredible, once-in-a-lifetime scuba diving opportunity.
