Purpose-built for long-range cruising, she offers smooth sailing, generous deck space and fully equipped facilities for serious diving expeditions.

Operating across Indonesia’s top regions, the vessel spends a prime part of the year exploring Komodo’s dynamic waters.

Hosting up to 16 guests in 8 cabins, the Amaya Explorer provides a personal and comfortable liveaboard experience supported by a professional, friendly crew.

Diving with Amaya Explorer in Komodo

Amaya Explorer-Raja Ampat-TurtleKomodo is renowned for exhilarating currents, vibrant coral gardens and encounters with iconic marine life. Expect dramatic pinnacles at Castle Rock and Crystal Rock, colourful reefs at Batu Bolong, and unforgettable moments with manta rays at Makassar Reef and Manta Alley.

The Amaya Explorer typically offers 3–4 dives per day, operated from two fast, stable dive tenders. Dive schedules are planned with currents and conditions in mind to ensure safe, optimal experiences at each site. Nitrox is available for certified divers wishing to extend bottom time.

Komodo’s dive season with Amaya Explorer usually runs from June to August, with some itineraries extending into surrounding months or combining with nearby regions for varied exploration.

Sample Itinerary

Most Komodo trips begin and end in Labuan Bajo, the gateway to the national park. Depending on conditions, dives may include:

  • Castle Rock & Crystal Rock – High-energy drifts, pelagics and schooling life.

  • Batu Bolong – A vibrant coral pinnacle filled with life.

  • Makassar Reef & Manta Alley – Prime manta encounters.

  • Tatawa Besar, Siaba Kecil & the Cauldron – Diverse reefs, macro life and fast drifts.
