Raja Ampat

Prepare to be captivated by Raja Ampat, a renowned diving paradise that boasts some of the most extraordinary underwater experiences on the planet. Descriptions of its breathtaking beauty and vibrant ecosystems are not mere embellishments; they are a testament to a world where the ocean teems with life and colour.

The Raja Ampat archipelago is simply incredible, from reefs exploding in colour and life to huge schools of pelagics, manta cleaning stations, wobbegong and epaulette sharks, clear-water mangroves, and piers bustling with corals and fish. A dive excursion to this remote area in the far east of Indonesia will have you vowing to return as soon as you have the opportunity.

Most Sustainable Dive Liveaboard

The Carpe Diem management not only actively carbon offsets but the yacht gains as much power from solar as it possibly can. The company also participates in local community initiatives, so the Carpe Diem gets our vote as one of Indonesia’s most sustainable dive liveaboards.

The Yacht

Carpe-Diem-under-sail-cropThe Carpe Diem was constructed from scratch in the wooden Phinisi style of South Sulawesi. She has two masts rigged in a Gaff-Ketch arrangement and carries divers in luxury to the best dive locations in Indonesia.

Explicitly built to carry a small number of guests, you will have no problem finding peace and solace on this beautiful yacht. Relax on this wonderfully designed beauty and watch the stunning landscapes of Komodo, Raja Ampat, and the Banda Sea pass.

Accommodation

Carpe-Diem-cabin-edThere are only four guest cabins on the Carpe Diem, meaning the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and there is plenty of room on the yacht.

Carrying a maximum of 10 guests, the Carpe Diem offers superb value for this level of service. All cabins have portholes and skylights, allowing for plenty of natural light. They also all have air conditioning and en-suite bathrooms. A comfortable saloon, a large sundeck and an al fresco dining area provide ample space to chill out in and enjoy.

The Diving

Carpe-Diem-aerial-1It’s Raja Ampat! The scuba is phenomenal. Let the Carpe Diem take you to all the best dive sites in the whole of the archipelago.

Diving is done from one of two tenders, making sure of safety, and the best entries and exits.

Food Onboard

Carpe-Diem-foodFood is of utmost importance when diving daily in the remote areas of Indonesia, and the Carpe Diem exceeds expectations.

Providing imaginative menus featuring locally sourced ingredients focuses on serving great food while promoting sustainability. Cecile looks over the kitchen, and plant-based diets are well respected and catered for. Vegan, plant-based and cruelty-free❤️

Sustainability

Tree Certificate-carpe-diemOne of the many reasons we love this operation is that the Carpe Diem team has taken sustainability seriously, incorporating carbon offsetting, biofuels, LED lights, solar panels, and a zero single-use plastic policy. The Carpe Diem is at the forefront of the pack in environmentally conscious liveaboard operators in Indonesia, allowing you to do more for the ocean on your next dive holiday.
