Dauin, Dumaguete, is a remarkable diving destination for many reasons and should be one to get under your weight belt. Easy to get to, just a short flight from either Manila or Cebu or a fast ferry ride from Bohol.
The Dauin coastline offers world-class macro diving and fantastic wide-angle opportunities at Apo Island. Large stretches of the black sand Dauin coast are marine protected areas, and life is flourishing as a result. Not just the larger fish, but also the smaller critters benefit from this protection.
Famous for Frogfish, Dauin ranks as one of the top two macro locations in the Philippines, alongside Anilao. Just a 50-minute boat ride away is Apo Island, the oldest marine protected sanctuary in the Philippines. This small island is home to extremely vibrant coral life, fish, and large numbers of sea turtles.

Dauin and the surrounding area are sprawling with fantastic dive sites, and by staying at Atlantis, you won’t miss the stunning house reef.
Ensure you also visit Car Wrecks, shallow and deep; Dauin Norte; Eldorado Reef, deep and shallow; Mainit, Masapold Norte, and Masaplod Sur. Heading to Apo Island, don’t miss the dive sites of Coconut Pt, Chapel, Marine Sanctuary and Cogon.
