Solitude Acacia

Anilao is widely considered to be the best macro diving destination in the Philippines and perhaps the second worldwide behind Lembeh Strait. It is easy to get there on a two-hour transfer from NAIA airport in Manila or by boat to Batangas from many locations in the Philippines.

The Anilao coastline offers black sand and rocky shore areas on the Verde Strait, where some very special macro critters can be found. Further out, there are dive spots, where you can encounter schooling fish and coral reefs.

Famous for its diverse variety of nudibranch species, Anilao is definitely a must-dive destination for avid underwater photographers.

Our Favourite Resort in Anilao

Solitude Acacia has long been our favourite resort in Anilao due to the all-round fantastic service, attention to detail, and inclusivity.

The Resort

With three thoughtfully designed room types over three accommodation blocks, there is bound to be a room that fits your style. Wake up to views of the Verde Strait and watch the sun set over it from your balcony after a day of fantastic diving for Nudibranchs.

All rooms at Solitude are air-conditioned and have internet access, personal toiletries, daily housekeeping and a turndown service. The 24 hour guest service desk is on hand to help you with  anything you need at anytime you need it.

Dive Anilao

With over 40 dive sites in the area, there is plenty to explore, from muck to reefs; Anilao has a bit of everything. That said, the claim to fame is undoubtedly the macro life that abounds in the area. Nudibranchs, Rhinopias, Pygmy Seahorses, and Octopus can be found in the sand or rocky slopes of the dive sites surrounding Mabini and Maricaban Island. You will encounter critters you have never seen before, carefully spotted for you by your experienced dive guide.

You can even send us a wish list, and we will work with Solitude to do our best to ensure you get that photo op you have been craving.
