I got in touch with Brett from Infinite Blue while trying to plan a dive holiday on a vegan livaboard in Thailand. He responded warmly, quickly and energetically, he truly went out of his way to help with completely unrelated parts of the planning, offering vegan resturaunt recommendations in Bangkok and helping me even after it was clear that the liveaboards he was connected with weren't quite going to fit our dates. In the end the plans have changed but I will definitely be in touch again when we head to Asia as the generosity and helpfulness was simply wonderful. We are both vegan and so I searched for vegan scuba diving and discovered Infinite Blue Dive Travel. Food is a major concern, of course. I talked with other liveaboard organizers, but Infinite Blue came to the top quickly. Brett is extremely warm, kind, clearly passionate about scuba and knowledgeable… and I was tickled that he was vegan. Our experience could not have been more top notch! The boat (Tiare) is unbelievably gorgeous, we had two dive masters were the loveliest of people and just the type of people we’d want to guide us, the crew so thoughtful, and yes excellent vegan food. The excursion was put together so well and Brett was masterful in his communications throughout… even sent us t-shirts at the end. This was truly one of the best experiences I’ve had in my life. We booked a completely vegan dive holiday in Bali at Infinite Blue Dive Travel, and it exceeded all expectations. We got certified for Open Water, and did a whole bunch of extra fun dives afterwards. Additionally, even though it's not their main specialty, which they said upfront, we wanted some in-land excursions and activities as well, which they also knocked out of the park! Brett was our contact, and he is fantastic. He's extremely knowledgeable about diving, Bali (and places to eat there), and is very communicative and really cares about how your vacation is going. We loved the interactions with him and if there was any hiccup, it was resolved instantly. I absolutely recommend Infinite Blue to anyone looking for an unforgettable vegan dive vacation, thanks Brett! I don’t normally write reviews, let alone long ones, but this vacation—which we agree has been the best of our lives—warrants it. The agency is professional, competent, and more than willing to go the extra mile to get its clients exactly what they want. Our agent, Brett, was not only immeasurably kind and personable, but went to great lengths to work out what our dream vacation would look like, and even greater lengths to ensure it was achieved flawlessly. Where we wanted activities beyond their specialism of diving, instead of telling us to sort this out ourselves, they chose to draw on their external networks to arrange these for us. The diving was of course excellent, even for someone as poorly-coordinated and generally panicky as I, but beyond that, the dive training, associated activities, meals, and transfers were also managed seamlessly. Some of our group had financial constraints, but Infinite Blue didn’t let that stand in the way of an excellent vacation, working with whatever resources were available without compromising comfort or quality. The most remarkable bit, though, is the inclusiveness: our group is vegan, and as any vegan knows, being one is more often than not an alienating experience, especially when travelling. However, Infinite Blue somehow ensured an experience where alienation wasn’t even a remote concern, consistently arranging for delightful vegan food and recommending some of the best restaurants we’ve been to in our lives. They also partnered with considerate operators to foster an environment in which our views and values were recognised and respected. We sought Infinite Blue out because we wanted an ethical travel agency that cared about more than just the bottom line: be it animal ethics, environmental protection, or engagement with the local community, Infinite Blue has it covered. Vacations, for most folk, are hard-earned and involve significant time, energy, and financial investment. It is easy enough for the experience to be ruined by travel agencies who don’t invest adequate care into ensuring that their clients’ needs are met, especially when niche, ethics-based lifestyles like veganism are involved. Veganism extends beyond diet to lifestyle choices that prioritise the safeguarding of highly-commodified, vulnerable, and exploited beings—it isn’t just about eating plant-based food, but also about avoiding participating in activities than involve animal exploitation.
